 Thomas Moore
"The Soul of Sex"
Although almost every person I've met while working for SexTV have been great, there are some that have been truly wonderful. Thomas Moore is one of those wonderful people. He is not a preacher, nor is he puritanical in any way. Rather, his sentiments around sex and love are the perfect balance between the lines of "Do whatever feels good" and "Sex should always be something special". To me, his words seem to sit in the often ignored place where 'soulful sex' resides.
When we first heard that Thomas was coming into Toronto, you would have thought that he was a rock star or a porn star or something…we were almost wrestling over each other to decide who would do the interview. We all agreed there was something so inspiring about his words…something so real, honest - without being flaky. Which is really, REALLY rare these days.
What's also so fascinating about Thomas is where he came from. Having been a celibate, Catholic monk for a number of years - he is willing to discuss intercourse, orgasms and pornography and without so much of a flinch. If only every religious person could be as tolerant and accepting as he is.
In this sex obsessed and often narrow minded world we live in, his words are a reminder of the way sexuality should be regarded.
