Sex and Clowns
When trying to come up with new and interesting Sextv story to do, it's too easy to just run down the list of sexual fetishes and randomly pick one. Even doing that is no guarantee that the story would be interesting, as most fetishes are rather dull to those who don't share that particular fetish. I mean how much can you really say about - oh I don't know rubber. It's shiny and smooth, makes you look younger and sexier, it feels good to wear, blah blah. It doesn't really make for intriguing television, matter how good looking the models are. So when I came across clown fetish I'll have to admit I was a little intrigued. Clowns have been around for a long time, and they really bring out strong reactions in people. A lot of people are terrified of them and many don't like them, so the idea that some people could sexualize them in any way was, well, weird. I just didn't get it. When I pitched the idea to my producer, I expected him to reply with a firmly put 'no.' But, to my surprise, he told me to go for it.
I quickly learned that the clown fetish community is a small group. There are a few thousand around the globe, and most of them seem to be in the United States. My mission now was to seek them out and interview them.
Interview #1 Ouchy the Clown. [ http://www.ouchytheclown.com/ ] Professional dominatrix and a corporate meetings facilitator. No joke.
Ouchy the Clown lives somewhere in the tangled mess of highways and shipyards that is Oakland. We were on our way to interview him and film him at 'work.' It was nighttime, and I wondered exactly what I was getting into. I do not have a fear of clowns, I have never seen Stephen King's 'It'; but I do know of John Wayne Gacy and I've always found clowns to be a little strange. My cameraman didn't seem too eager to film this one either, but being the professionals that we are, we prodded on.
Ouchy's place was a small house like any other on the street. The only difference was that the living room was adorned with clown paraphernalia. Lamps, dolls, noses, clown statues, you name it, it was there. Ouchy was in white face, had contacts in that made his pupils red and he was wearing a black leather thong. I have to admit the thong broke the ice. Ouchy knew this was all about fun. If he had been serious about being a clown, I would have run screaming.
We did the interview and then proceeded to a warehouse to film Ouchy dominating two other clowns, Blueballs and Achtung! It was your usual SM scene [if there's anything usual about SM] except the cross was painted with white polka dots and Ouchy used things like a rubber chicken and a bug zapper to inflict pain the other two. The highlight of the night was when I told Ouchy we had enough footage and he didn't need to do any more work for us. He promptly replied that he wanted the bottoms to enjoy it so he was going to continue. So we just stood there watching a clown in a black thong putting happy face clamps on Achtung's! nipples and inner thighs while she screamed in pain and he told bad jokes. All in a day's work.
Interview #2 Knockers the Klown. [http://www.drducky.com/knockers/] Perhaps the world's best-known sex clown. Famous for sitting on cakes and giving lectures about putting things in your rectum.
Knockers was a giggle. Literally. She had this high-pitched squeal of a laugh that punctuated every answer in the interview. While she mostly focuses on sex education now as her other alter ego Ducky Doolittle, she still does clown burlesque and causes ruckuses around town occasionally. I must admit, there was something sexy about her, and I would much rather listen to her talk about sex than Dr. Ruth. Sex should be fun, she said, and who am I to argue with a clown?
Interview #3 Pumper Clown [http://www.hellnation.com/interviews/pumper.htm] Pumper clowns around for entertainment. He likes the anarchic association of clowning and does things as a clown he wouldn't dream of doing in plain clothes. He goes bowling and hangs with the clown gang in New York City.
Pumper was a sad looking clown, but full of life. We interviewed him in our hotel room and then went for cocktails after. We tried filming some people interaction near Times Square, but as it was 30 Celsius with the wind chill, it wasn't happening. We got kicked out of a porn store; got a million weird stares [even in NYC!] and did get asked to go for a ride with three young ladies in a limo, but who knows where that would have taken us. So we decided to warm up with some alcoholic beverages. The highlight of this night? Watching Pumper's martini drip off his red, squeaky nose while he talked with the ladies.
Interview #4 - The interview that never happened. I did call up a guy by the name of Knotty Clown who was just downright creepy. He was too serious about his clown porn, and that John Wayne Gacy image kept circulating around my head. So I left it at that.
So what did I learn from all this? Apart from the fact that clowns shouldn't take themselves too seriously and that sex can and should be fun, I'm not quite sure. People dressed up as clowns can get away with a lot more because they are clowns, so clowning and sex kind of makes sense, I guess. The one thing I do know is you won't catch me renting The Best of Clown Porn #15 any time soon.
