In the Western world, there's been heightened media attention focused on the female face - specifically the lips. On practically every magazine cover, we see huge, pouty, wet lips on faces that seem to be getting thinner and thinner. Why is this look so popular? In "The Human Sexes," anthropologist Desmond Morris postulates that female lips have an undeniable resemblance to the labia and men are subconsciously reminded of women's genitals when looking at women's lips.
