Intersexuality, which occurs in a variety of forms, is discovered each year in 65,000 children -- one out of every 2,000 births worldwide. These children are neither male nor female because they are born with varying physical aspects of both sexes. This program examines the medical ethics surrounding the surgical treatment of intersex children, a practice which is performed on five infants a day in the U.S.
